25 Summer Boredom Busters for Children and Families

Here is a list of creative ways for you and your children to make use of free time this summer:

1.  Visit a local “pick-your-own” farm or orchard

2.  Build a fort

3.  Get a large piece of paper, tape it to a wall, grab some crayons and create a wall mural

4.  Plan a picnic

5.  Go for a bike ride

6.  Throw an un-birthday party

7.  Go for a nature walk in your neighborhood

8.  Make cards and deliver them to a local nursing home

9.  Run through the sprinkler

10.  Make tie-dye shirts

11.  Chase fireflies

12.  Make homeade popsicles

13.  Write a story

14.  Visit the library

15.  Make your own instruments and host a concert

16.  Perform a science experiment (Coke and Mentos, anyone?)

17.  Go to a park or the mall and people watch

18.  Make freshly squeezed lemonade

19.  Go fly a kite

20.  Redecorate a room

21.  Cloud watch

22.  Learn about a different country
